NHS Education for Scotland General Practice Nurse Toolkit
This toolkit draws together a range of resources which are useful to nurses in their everyday work. Content was defined through discussion with nurses and content through consultation with subject specialists. The NHS Education for Scotland General Practice Nurse Toolkit was devleoped to meet the needs of GPNs through consultation with groups and individuals throughout Scotland about the information that would help them in their everyday work. They recognised that robust information was available on the web but that there were problems in locating this during the time they had avaialble.
The toolkit draws together a wide range of information from reliable sources, many of which were identified through discussion with subject specialists about the sources they use to find information.
THe content primarily consits of links to a wide range infomration and a series of specially constructed searches on a range of paricualarly relevant clinical issues to identify the current litereature on these subjects e.g. asthma, depression, diabetes, chronic pain.
The sections of the toolkit are:

- responsive to nurse needs and demands
- dynamic and respond to devleopments in practice.
The toolkit was launched at the end of June 2008 and in the first two months, there were 1861 visitors to the site - many of them returning, as thre were 2571 visits.
